Rockets!

For todays activity we made rockets. I think the children are hoping to see lots of fireworks tonight and tomorrow. There is definitely a sense of excitement building in my house. 

I am hoping it will not be too scary for Marigold the chicken she is an old lady now, i will have to lock her in her house early before all the noise starts.

One of my favourite things about this time of year

is the food, i love a toffee apples and who can resist s’mores cooked on an open fire. I have been a bit of a pyrotechnic since i was a child so this time of the year gives me the perfect opportunity to enjoy a fire. I think all children are attracted to the excitement and danger of a fire, i have taught Fin how to be safe and enjoy cooking on a fire in the hope that he doesn't do silly things when he is older like setting the garden shed on fire ( a friends story not mine) …
